TierVS is a character ranking website where you vote in head-to-head matchups between video game characters. Here’s what data is involved:
What We Collect
Web server logs: Like every website, our server automatically logs basic technical info when you visit – your IP address, what browser you’re using, which pages you requested. This is standard web server behavior needed to serve you the website.
Vote tracking: When you vote, your browser stores a small cookie on your device that counts how many times you’ve voted today (to enforce daily limits). We read this number but don’t store it on our servers. The cookie resets every 24 hours and contains no personal information.
Voting results: We store aggregate vote totals (like “Character A won 150 times and lost 100 times”) to calculate rankings, but we don’t record who voted for what.
What We Don’t Collect
No user accounts, no comments, no personal information, no tracking of individual users, no analytics, no advertising cookies. You can use the site completely anonymously.
Data Usage
The web server logs are used for basic technical purposes. The vote data creates the character rankings using an ELO rating system. That’s it.
